    Covering The Pain

    Gina’s relief comes when crimson red

    Trickles down her arms.

    She holds a curved blade

    The cold surface taunts her.

    Her finger traces the edge,

    A ghost forever haunting her

    Day after day.

    Her arms tremble,

    Tender veins shout at her,

    Telling her to stop.

    Her arms begin to cry

    And rust fills her nostrils.

    Stains on the floor.

    Drip,

    Drip,

    Drip.

    Oh what a trip,

    Traces of pain going down the drain.

    Bracelets, jackets,

    Long sleeved shirts.

    Covering the pain

    Of this emotional rain.
